Inmarsat in dispute over “owed tax”

Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is reportedly demanding a £42 million ($65 million) tax payment  from the London-based international satellite operator Inmarsat.  According to the Sunday Times, Inmarsat disputes the claim that the tax is allegedly owed as the result of an underpayment of tax in the tax year 2007-2008 related to a tax-advantageous sale-and-lease back deal related to a launch programme.
